POAC Fees Uplift 1 July 2025

POAC Revised Fees and Claiming – Effective 1 July 2025

The Primary Options for Acute Care (POAC) fee schedule has been updated, effective 1 July 2025.

These changes reflect feedback from key stakeholders and are part of the commitment to improving quality, consistency, and sustainability of acute care delivered in the community.

Key points:

  • Fees are now live in the POAC claiming system. 

  • Service fees are increasing to better reflect the cost of delivery, and the claiming process is being simplified with fixed fees.

  • These changes align with both Northern Region and National Extended Primary and Community Care (EPCC) priorities to ensure consistent pricing, eligibility, and access across all Districts.

  • The administration fee of $15.50 has been removed, and the requirement for reporting the outcome condition and admission status is no longer needed.

  • Investments in system enhancements and IT infrastructure will further reduce the administrative burden for your teams, making the claiming process clearer and more efficient.

  • Training is offered for practice team members responsible for claiming to assist with a more efficient process, reduced workload and ensuring optimising of claiming.

  • Claims for services delivered up to 30 June 2025 must be submitted no later than 31 August 2025.  If assistance is required, please contact our team by email as below.

  • Revised claim rates are applicable only to activity commenced from 1 July 2025.
