WELCOME TO POAC - AUCKLAND REGION
Covid19 Pandemic: We are still here for you
During the Covid19 pandemic, we want to assure you that services are still available and the POAC team are here to provide support and ongoing services for you. The best way to contact us is by email firstname.lastname@example.org, or phone (09) 5357218 and leave us a message.
Radiology: Acute and urgent radiology services will still be available. For USS and CT requests, phone POAC (09) 535 7218 or email referral details to email@example.com. For the safety of patient and staff, only one person will be permitted in at a time, all patients will be screened prior to entry. For X-Ray requests, please call ahead to discuss with local radiology provider.
Home supports: Essential care available as normal - refer online in the usual way here
Residential care: All admissions accepted into RC will require 14 days isolation from date of admission. No visitors are allowed during level four lockdown. Positive cases of Covid19 will not be accepted into care facilities. It will be a requirement for the referrer to discuss patient care with the RC facility directly, prior to acceptance. If the referrer is NOT the patients own GP, please discuss directly with the GP prior to referring to POAC to determine acceptance of ongoing clinical responsibility and availability to provide ongoing medical support where needed. Refer online here
Other services: Some non-urgent services normally provided under POAC (LARC, iron infusions, aclasta) are not able to be accessed in the usual timeframe due to changes by which care is being delivered in primary care and by private community providers. We will endeavour to ensure patient care and safety comes first and will prioritise based on clinical need. Please contact us or pop a note in the referral if the patient is symptomatic or there is clinical urgency.
