Opioid Substitution Therapy (OST)

Authorised GPs who provide Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) to patients are eligible for a funded fixed fee for prescribing and face to face consultations (as per the conditions for prescribing). 

The fixed fee (see here) is per patient per quarter and is processed by POAC in January, April, July, October.

No patient co-payment is to be charged.

This service is only for patients who are identified as stable and suitable to receive this care from an authorised GP by the Community Alcohol and Drug Service (CADS) / Auckland Opioid Treatment Service (AOTS).

 New referrals and quarterly invoices will be automatically generated by POAC. No action is required of the registered GP.
